MY AREAS OF FOCUS
-
Trauma is about how past experiences continue to shape your present: your relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you. It can show up as hypervigilance, disconnection, difficulty trusting, or a sense of never quite feeling safe. Whether your trauma is acute, complex, or systemic, I work to help you rebuild trust from within, so you’re free to engage in all of life’s possibilities, not just the ones that feel safest.

Recovery is more than abstinence—it’s about building a life that supports staying well, and that life looks different for everyone. Early recovery in particular can feel disorienting: old coping tools are gone, but new ones haven’t taken hold yet, and that gap can be where people are most vulnerable to relapse or despair. I bring a comprehensive understanding of addiction and recovery, and I’m well-versed in 12-Step, SMART Recovery, and harm reduction models, so we can build a path that actually fits your life, not someone else’s template.
-
Gambling addiction is unique, and it requires personal, specialized care. Whether it’s video lottery terminals, casinos, sports betting, prediction markets, or day trading, the effects can be isolating and financially and emotionally crushing—often compounded by shame and stigma that keep people from asking for help. I have specialized education, training, and experience treating problem gambling in both individuals and relationships. Together, we explore what makes gambling uniquely challenging—the money, the shame, the secrecy—as well as the underlying factors driving the behavior.
-
Codependent patterns—people-pleasing, approval-seeking, losing your sense of self in relationships—usually started as ways of staying safe and connected in early relationships, often ones where love felt conditional. Over time, though, those same patterns can leave you feeling like you don’t know who you are outside of what other people need from you. In therapy, we explore where these patterns came from and build your self-trust from there, so you can set clearer boundaries and find more balanced, honest connection.
-
Betrayal within a relationship can be isolating, confusing, and deeply painful. It tends to leave endless questions about the past, present, and future, and can knock everyone involved off their center, especially the version of the relationship you thought you knew. I approach repair from infidelity and betrayal around each couple’s unique needs, focusing on healing, rebuilding trust, and working toward whatever the ultimate goal turns out to be.
-
Resentment tends to build in the small, unrepaired moments—the times we didn’t feel seen or heard, the needs that went unmet. Left unaddressed, it accumulates, and corrodes intimacy—turning close relationships into distant ones. I help guide relationships out of resentment through real repair, meeting needs directly, and rebuilding the intimacy that resentment eroded.
-
Sometimes, you’re just not sure what to do about the relationship. Discernment counseling exists to help you get clarity, not commit to an outcome before you’re ready. Through a focused series of sessions, we work together to determine a real course of action, whether that’s consciously separating or choosing to stay and do the deeper work of healing.
-
Our families aren’t always the supportive, loving models we’re taught they should be. Family systems are complex, and many families simply don’t have the tools to navigate conflict, loss, addiction, or trauma with compassion and connection—so old patterns and roles get passed down and repeated instead of resolved. In family therapy, we focus on the whole system: how members influence each other, the roles they’ve settled into, family rules, boundaries, and communication. I help families feel heard and valued while working together to shift stuck patterns toward greater trust and empathy.
Services
WHAT I OFFER
I offer individual and relationship therapy focused on healing from the impacts of addiction and trauma. My approach is trauma-informed, somatically-integrated, client-centered, and collaborative—because I believe you’re the expert on your own life, and my job is to walk alongside you, not ahead of you. I draw on both bottom-up and top-down methods, working with your body’s nervous system responses as much as your thoughts, emotions, and the stories you carry about yourself. Healing isn’t just about insight, it’s about coming home to yourself, and finding steadier, more secure ways of being in relationship with the people you love.
❋ COUPLES THERAPY
Addiction and trauma don’t just affect individuals, they create unique, severe strain on our relationships. It can feel like a wall between you, a major betrayal, or like you don’t know where to begin to trust again. Maybe you’re trying to repair your relationship after finding abstinence, but aren’t sure where to begin in order to rebuild. Maybe you’re unable to let go of the vigilance of your partner, causing strain on you both.
Couples therapy offers a structured, supportive space to heal from betrayal, rebuild trust, and strengthen the foundation of your relationship. I help partners work together to find where they’re missing one another, to move toward one another, and create deeper emotional intimacy.
❋ FAMILY THERAPY
When addiction or trauma enters a family, it doesn’t stay contained to one person. It moves through the whole system, shaping how people communicate, who takes on what role, and what goes unspoken. Over time, predictable patterns emerge that can feel impossible to change from the inside.
These patterns aren’t anyone’s fault. They develop because families are doing their best to manage pain with the tools they have. But they can change, and they change most effectively when the whole family is part of the process.
I draw on evidence-based approaches utilized specifically for families navigating addiction, trauma, and long-standing relational patterns.
❋ INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Painful experiences leave us feeling unsafe, disconnected, out of control. We develop strategies–substances, gambling, people-pleasing, avoidance–to manage that pain and try to guard from future pain. The shame and consequences of those patterns can become traumatic in their own right. They bring temporary relief, but create new problems over time.
Maybe emotionally absent or immature parents led you to get value from your romantic relationships, or your jobs. Maybe you become flooded with anxiety when your mom calls, and struggle to maintain boundaries with your family, afraid of the consequences.
I offer a space that’s entirely yours to slow down, get in touch with what’s underneath those patterns, and begin to move toward a life you want.
❋ GROUP THERAPY
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is walk into a room of people who get it. I offer three groups:
Maintenance Mode
You’ve been abstinent from problem gambling, but still seek a regular recovery touchpoint in order to maintain abstinence. This group offers a judgment-free space to explore the ups and downs of ongoing recovery, share honestly with others who understand, and continue to build that sustainable path of recovery.
Coming Home
Codependency develops when we lose ourselves in the needs, moods, or recovery of someone else. This group helps members recognize those patterns, reconnect with their own needs and boundaries, and build relationships—including the one with themselves—that are rooted in security rather than fear.
Seeking Safety for Men
Men are rarely given space to talk honestly about pain, fear, or the experiences that have shaped them. This group offers exactly that: a structured, confidential environment where men can learn and discuss tools for managing the impacts of trauma & addiction while creating connections with others.
