I came to this field through my own experience in long-term recovery, which shapes my genuine, humanistic approach to this work. My style is gentle, direct, and challenging—I’ll call you on your patterns while reminding you that I believe in you. Before becoming a therapist, I had a career in visual design, and that background still shapes how I think about people, systems, and the ways we connect with one another. I also worked with houseless folks in Los Angeles, where I learned to meet people exactly where they are, without judgment or pretense. My clients tell me they appreciate that I’m not a robot—that I curse, make jokes and mistakes, and never try to force them to be anything they’re not.
